על התערוכה

"…change in Cuba and Havana shouldn't be feared or opposed. It's a necessity. Cuba cannot exist as a souvenir shop frozen in time, meant to amuse us. It's a city to be lived in, one which should develop. It can't be a Caribbean version of Westworld, I find that approach offensive. Before the revolution, Havana was one of the most sophisticated, beautiful and cosmopolitan cities in the western hemisphere. It should become one again, and I'm sure it will." Belmont Freeman, Architect

"Cuba. On the Brink" presents a photographic view of daily fragments from the most populated island-state in the Caribbean, a moment before its gates open following the easement of the US embargo.
This group exhibition focuses on the local human environment, and the relationships between man and his surroundings: city, street, home, work and leisure.
Twenty photographers, members of the Urbanica group, will present their impressions of Cuba, one moment before the end of one era and the beginning of the next.

Participants: Sofi Abuhazera, Orna Naor, Daniella Contini, Frederica Cerderos Albertini, Hila Ness, Nahum Sagie, Yair Razili, Anat Cohen Padani, Tamir Paul, Tedi Alon, Rivka Shahaf, Sara Zivoni, Idan Weisman, Nissim Jarassi, Ela Waldman, Meirav Saig, Ronit Tal, Limor Barak.
